Fukuoka
Fukuoka Prefecture, the gateway to Kyushu, produces a wide variety of agricultural, forestry and fishery products, including sweet, large-sized "amaou" strawberries, juicy "persimmons", Hakata Wagyu beef, Yame tea, ramey (wheat for ramen), and Hakata Jidori chicken. These branded products are highly regarded, especially in Asia, and are actively exported to Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand, Singapore, and other countries. Processed foods such as spicy cod roe, shochu, sake, soy sauce and miso are also popular, and Fukuoka Prefecture is working with related organizations both within and outside the prefecture to strengthen its export system and develop new products to promote exports. Safe, secure and high-quality Fukuoka products are a category that is expected to see increased demand in overseas markets, including the United States.
