This is the most refined Uji matcha in this series, perfect for both thick and thin tea ceremonies, made from tencha tea leaves carefully cultivated under cover and ground with a stone mill, resulting in a harmonious blend of aroma, color, and flavor.
Tencha, the raw material for matcha, is covered in April when the new buds sprout, blocking direct sunlight and allowing it to slowly accumulate flavor and aroma in soft light.
This Uji matcha is made by slowly grinding that tencha using a traditional stone mill.
Its vibrant green color, smooth foam, refined aroma, and deep flavor and umami stand out, making it suitable for both thick and thin tea.
