This kabusecha tea is from Kyoto Prefecture, renowned as the birthplace of Uji tea, one of Japan's three great teas alongside Shizuoka tea and Sayama tea.
The tea leaves, grown using cover cultivation, in which the new shoots are covered, are characterized by their reduced astringency and their rich flavor and mellow sweetness.
Morihan, a long-established tea merchant founded in Uji/Kokura in 1836 and a two-time winner of the All Japan Tea Judging Skills Competition, has meticulously crafted this tea from carefully selected tea leaves.
