Aoyagi Foods' Choshi-ni Sardines (100g) are made with fresh sardines caught off the coast of Choshi, Chiba Prefecture, and slowly simmered in a traditional soy sauce flavor. Each sardine is carefully decapitated and simmered using a unique method until even the bones are tender, reducing the fishy odor and bitterness typical of blue fish. The soy sauce is from Yamasa Soy Sauce, a long-established company in Choshi, and the mirin is locally produced in Chiba Prefecture. The sauce has been added to over 50 years, resulting in a deep, rich flavor. For tsukudani, the elegant flavor is not too sweet or spicy, making it a great accompaniment to rice, a snack with alcohol, or a topping for noodles like udon or soba. This popular product won the Fisheries Agency Commissioner's Award at the National Seafood Processing Food Exhibition, and is loved by people of all ages and genders.
