Momoya Edo Murasaki Small Bottle [Seaweed tsukudani]
Momoya Edo Murasaki Small Bottle [Seaweed tsukudani]
Momoya's "Edo Murasaki Small Bottle [Nori Tsukudani]" is a long-selling product that represents Momoya, released in 1950, and is made using sheets of nori from Japan (mainly harvested around Mikawa Bay) and the traditional method of making tsukudani. It is characterized by a sharp taste that makes use of the umami and aroma of "nori" and "soy sauce" without using any extracts. Compared to its sister product "Gohan Desu Yo!", "Edo Murasaki" uses only sheets of nori, giving it a more solid finish. It has a moderate sweetness, a rich seaweed flavor, a solid saltiness, and a deep, aged flavor, and goes well with rice, as well as ochazuke and yudofu.
